What is SexyFire™?

SexyFire is a flame colorant developed to provide sexy colored fires in campsites.  Order Here.

Using SexyFire™

SexyFire™ is added to a campfire when the fire has developed a god bed of red coals, and has lost most of it's yellow flame. (This is usually just about the time someone wants to add more wood.  Don't let them!) Sexy Fire™ should be placed well within the fire.  For a longer, more spectacular show use up to 3 SexyFire™ packets in a 1 meter (3 foot) diameter campfire.

SexyFire™ provides a colored light show in your fire for over 45 minutes.

How does SexyFire™ work?

Flames develop color because of changes in electron energy in the ions within the flame (ions are electrically charged atoms.) The primary components in SexyFire™ are copper and chlorine.  Copper is capable of changing electron states through a fairly wide range of charges, each change releases light of a different color. Every element has distinct colors which are released as it's electrons change state.  Sodium (half of common table salt) is extremely common in most lifeforms on the planet, including trees. Sodium ions are responsible for the primarily yellow light provided by campfires.   This light will tend to overpower the more delicate colors provided by the copper and chlorine ions combining and recombining. )(That's why you want to avoid putting fresh wood on a fire when using SexyFire™.)

Is SexyFire™ safe?

As packaged, SexyFire™ is classified as inert (meaning that it is not chemically reactive,) and can be safely shipped, stored and handled.

In use, SexyFire™ does produced some smoke, and like all smoke and hot gases from a fire, it should not be inhaled.  Short term exposure to the smoke is about as uncomfortable and unsafe as any other campfire smoke. Avoid inhaling smoke!

Any campfire is, by nature, hazardous and should not be left unattended.

Do not place SexyFire™ in someone's fire without their knowledge and approval. This is simply good manners.  Because fire is so dangerous, it is the owner's responsibility that it be controlled.  You do not control a fire if anyone can just fiddle with it!  Ask permission!

Children should not play with fires.
